If you are trying to avoid designing something from scratch, these websites are a great place to start. Often times you will find that someone has already created the exact thing you are looking for. TinkerCAD

If you are new to 3D Modeling, a great place to start is TinkerCAD.com. It is a bit simplistic and not geared towards advanced design, but it will help you understand how to move features around in a 3d space, and how to start building in 3D.


Fusion 360

Fusion 360 is the poor mans Solidworks. If you are looking to start designing some more complex shapes then this is a great program. With some time, you will soon be creating complex assemblies. Fusion 360 offers Hobbyist licenses for free and Professional licenses for those who want to make modeling their career.
